Successful Style & Image Reviews RibbedTee Undershirts - Fitted, Comfortable and Lightweight

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Jamie Yasko-Mangum is a certified self-image consultant, corporate training consultant, President of Successful Style & Image and published book author. She also hosts several online video series, including ”How to Create a Professional Wardrobe for Men” and “Professional Wardrobe for Women“.

We recently sent her some of our RibbedTee undershirts to review and were really excited to hear that they featured us in their June Mid-Month Specials and Reviews Newsletter! This is what she had to say:

Last month we were contacted by the designers of RibbedTee Undershirts for men. They wanted us to take a look at their undershirts and tell them what we thought.

I am a true believer in undershirts for men!  When I received them I couldn’t believe how light they were.  I gave them to my husband who  wears undershirts, with all his professional and casual shirts, and asked what he thought of them.

He told me he loves them!  He said the snug fit is comfortable and does not bunch up or ride up when he moves his arms.  The lightweight of the undershirt felt like he was only wearing one shirt and kept him cool.  He really likes the ribbed look.  He wishes the undershirts would come in variety of colors (they come in only white and black).

RibbedTee, you have a hit on your hands!

The RibbedTee comes in a vneck and crew neck in black and white.  Coming soon they will create women’s t’s too.  They sell their t’s for $18.50/$19.50 for two.  You can pick up your RibbedTee at www.ribbedtee.com

UndershirtGuy.com - Positive reviews on RibbedTee undershirts

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Earlier today, a guest writer on The UndershirtGuy.com blog published a nice review of our RibbedTee undershirts. You can read the full review here, but here are some excerpts that we especially liked:

RibbedTee is an amazing idea and it blows me away that no one has ever thought about manufacturing a ribbed undershirt before! Big props to the creativity of the founder in designing this concept. It’s nice to see someone creating an innovative shirt that can compete against other manufacturers.

The fabric is 100% lightweight cotton and was surprisingly very breathable.

The shirt was very form fitting and I liked the fit in the arms, especially. It tapers nicely and gives you a nice form fit (it gives you a slight slimming effect, yet it’s very comfortable).

This shirt is being marketed for it’s cool comfort and form fit so I wore it to the gym. This shirt’s wicking capabilities are great! It breathed just as good, if not better than any of my ribbed tank tops.

In summary, if you’re someone who wears a wife beater tank top or a Hanes undershirt and you’re looking for an undershirt that will breathe nicely, keep you cool, and fit better than most….then I highly recommend purchasing the RibbedTee. I definitely see this shirt as a better fitting, more breathable alternative to Hanes or Jockey. I would love to see RibbedTee in Target, Kohls, Nordstrom Rack, etc….

Thanks to the Guest reviewer who wrote up such a nice review of our undershirt. We’d love to see our shirts in Target, Kohls, Nordstrom Rack, (and Walmart) too! Attention retail buyers — give us a call!

A deal on some great undershirts! RibbedTee undershirts reviewed by Ask Andy.

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

We’re super pleased to be referred to as “an innovation in underwear” on the super popular Ask Andy About Clothes website and forums (The World’s Most Popular Website Devoted to Men’s Clothing Advice!).

If you’re a man, and haven’t heard about the Ask Andy About clothes website, you’ve got to check the site out. What started out as a hobby for site creator Andy Gilchrist, has turned into one of the web’s largest destinations devoted to providing advice on everything related to men’s clothing and fashions. Andy reserves a section of the site for information about products he’s personally reviewed, and the forums section is there for people to share, discuss, and debate about men’s fashion.

On Andy’s Recommendation page, he provides some really nice comments about the benefits of RibbedTee undershirts:

“it’s a unique combination of what’s great in a ribbed athletic tank undershirt with the traditional Tee, with an improvement on both!”

“You get the close fit, comfort and cooling effects of the ribbed fabric with a tee’s underarm perspiration and deodorant/anti-perspirant protection for your shirt.”

“It’s the perfect undershirt at a more than perfect price.”

We feel honored that Andy took the time to review our undershirts and we couldn’t be more pleased that he had such nice things to say about us. Thanks Andy, we really appreciate it!

The Lowdown On Undershirts

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

I came across this Askmen.com article where blogger and fashion correspondent Chris Rovny answers the following question from one of his readers:

I recently landed my first real office job and noticed that a lot of my colleagues wear T-shirts or “wife-beaters” underneath their dress shirts. What’s the deal? Is it fashionable, or not, to wear something underneath a dress shirt? And if it is, are there any rules to follow when picking which one to wear?

Chris provides his reader with the following advice:

Firstly, men who tend to sweat excessively wear undershirts to prevent sweat stains from becoming visible throughout the day. Other guys wear them to save on dry cleaning because undershirts help keep the sweat and other natural body odors from penetrating the shirt, keeping it clean for a longer amount of time…more here

…But if you do wear a T or sleeveless shirt (also known as a wife-beater) underneath your dress shirt, then the general rule is that it should be as sheer or thin as possible.

…Also, steer clear of undershirts that feature thicker and more apparent seams around the arms and collar because they tend to stand out more. Finally, you should wear a low-cut V-neck undershirt when wearing a dress shirt sans tie.

Gosh, did Chris know about the special features of the RibbedTee undershirt? It sounds like he’s describing them to a “tee” (no pun intended).

  • “thin as possible” - we pride ourselves on making our undershirts with a specially designed super-soft 6.0 ounce 2×1 ribbed cotton. This allows us to provide you with an extremely comfortable, form fitting undershirt that breathes so it keeps you cool all day long and won’t show through your outwear.
  • “steer clear of undershirts that feature thicker and more apparent seams” - no thick seams on our undershirts! We have purposely designed our shirts with flat, low-profile seams around the neck collar line as well as around the arms and bottom.
  • “low cut v-neck” - Check. We offer both types of collars (crew neck and v-neck) to choose from.

Great advice from an expert in the fashion world. Check out one of our product pages for a full list of features we offer in our undershirts.
